Ricoh Group advances its climate emergency plan and publishes 3 ESG reports

Weston, October 28, 2022 – Ricoh Company Ltd. today released three reports related to its investment in and commitment to the environment, society and governance (ESG). These are the TCFD 2022 Report, the Circular Economy Report 2022 and the Ricoh Group ESG Book 2022.

Ricoh Group TCFD Report 2022

In 2018, Ricoh announced its commitment to the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD), an advisory body created by the G20 to address concerns about insufficient disclosure of climate change-related risks and opportunities. Since then, Ricoh has promoted mitigation and adaptation initiatives, and has published information based on the TCFD Disclosure framework through its website and other means.

The 2022 Report clearly lists the path to decarbonization and the reduction of Scope 3 and other greenhouse gas emissions. It also details governance plans, risk management and other related topics.

Ricoh Group Circular Economy Report 2022

The Comet Circle™ vision was disseminated in 1994 by Ricoh as a concept for achieving a circular economy. For nearly 30 years, the group has based its efforts on this vision, promoting the effective use of resources throughout the entire product life cycle and the initiatives necessary to achieve a circular economy. Solid results have been achieved through the transformation of recycling and reuse of products and parts into businesses.

This Report describes the various circular economy opportunities that Ricoh is taking advantage of to plan for the future. It presents them through the perspective of the challenges the company faced over the years, as well as the technologies and extensive knowledge it gained through these initiatives.

Ricoh Group ESG Book 2022

Ricoh has been publishing the ESG Data Book, which lists the company's initiatives as quantitative data, since 2019. The Book is continuously updated to reflect ESG disclosure guidelines and index evaluation criteria, both domestic and international. The Book also lists the company's 17 goals and progress in its fiscal year 2021.
