History and context

In the heart of Costa Rica, a leading manufacturing company has become a world leader in the production and importation of fresh tropical produce. With a multinational infrastructure, this company is involved in all stages of the process: from production and procurement to shipping, ripening, distribution, and marketing of fresh tropical products. Its vision focuses on Stewardship and Protection of the Planet, Healthy Food for Healthy Lives, Enriching Quality of Life and Principles of Responsible Business Conduct.

Business challenge

Despite its success, the company faced a significant challenge: its conference rooms did not meet the requirements for effective meetings. Lack of professional advice and poor audio and video quality in virtual meetings with other countries prevented the sessions from being fruitful and meeting their objectives.

To address this issue, Ricoh met with the company to better understand its needs and explore lines of business and the relationship at the international level. During these meetings, the need for process automation in its Central American production plants was also identified. Ricoh contacted the global IT management in the Costa Rican office and, together with the specialists, initiated an immediate approach with the client.

Ricoh Solution

Ricoh proposed a complete and comprehensive solution that not only improved the operation of its audiovisual rooms but also included the optimization and automation of plant processes. The solution consisted of:

  • Ricoh Connected Workplace to solve intangibility issues in all-room corporate meetings and automate the divisible room by adding a door sensor that joins both rooms into one expert.
  • Ricoh Smart Flowincluding Zebra equipment to optimize plant floor processes.
  • Ricoh Workplace Managed Services to ensure technical support, maintenance of installed technology and supplies.

Results

The implementation of Ricoh's solution brought remarkable results:

  • A 40% increase in productivity.
  • More effective and faster collaborative meetings increased by 135%.
  • Reduction of bottlenecks and delays in repairs, increasing productivity by 35%.
