Tokyo on March 09, 2023 – The sustainability survey conducted by EcoVadis recognized Ricoh Company, Ltd. with a gold rating. This recognition places the company among the top 5% of companies evaluated in its sector in the context of sustainability performance.
Founded in 2007, EcoVadis is the world's most trusted provider of corporate sustainability ratings focused on environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) practices, and works to help companies improve their practices across their global supply chains.
EcoVadis evaluates more than 100,000 companies from over 175 countries and 200 industries on their business policies, initiatives and achievements in four key areas: Environment, Human and Labor Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. Ricoh's commitment in the areas of Environment and Sustainable Procurement has been universally recognized, with the latter receiving the highest rating of "Outstanding". The company has received the Gold rating in the assessment for consecutive years since 2014.
In 2019, Ricoh became the first Japan-based company to participate in the Business for Inclusive Growth, Business for Inclusive Growth program, which aims to address inequality in workplaces and supply chains. In the same year, it joined the Responsible Business Alliance, which promotes social responsibility in global supply chains.
Ricoh continues to contribute to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by solving social issues across the entire business value chain and working towards a sustainable society.
